Selling or Buying a Home? We provide the necessary well flowand water quality testingservices required when buy or selling a home in Oregon.
Real Estate Purity Test
This service is to provide the state required water quality tests if you are selling a property with a domestic well. The required test are coliform bacteria, nitrate and arsenic. These tests are normally paid for by the seller of the property. The results for these tests are normally back in about a week. Lead is sometimes requested as an additional test. These standard tests can be expanded upon into more comprehensive tests upon request.
Pump Test
Testing the reliability of your pump is very important for maintenance purposes. A pump test is similar to a flow test. Pump tests are not required for real estate transactions in Oregon, but check with your local real estate agent f you have any questions or concerns.
Well Chlorination
This is sometimes referred to as “shocking” the well. This is normally done after a positive bacteria sample. A disinfectant solution is introduced into the well system to the top of the well. The disinfectant is then circulated throughout the well and to every waterline on the property. It then needs time to disinfectant the water, normally about 8 hours, before being flushed to waste. Follow up bacteria samples can be provided. If the chlorination is associated with the sale of a house, it is required to wait a minimum of 5 days after chlorination to take a follow up sample.
